Cingilli Collection is pleased to support Lubaina Himid's solo presentation for the British Pavilion at the 61st Venice Art Biennale.
Commissioned by the British Council, 'Predicting History: Testing Translation' is on view from 9 May to 22 November 2026. Through a series of monumental paintings and an immersive sound installation, the exhibition considers themes of migration, memory, displacement, and the ongoing processes of translation, belonging, and home-making.
The presentation brings together Himid's distinctive figurative paintings, depicting tailors, cooks, and architects, with a newly commissioned sound work developed in collaboration with Magda Stawarska, creating a layered exploration of history, movement, and cultural exchange.
